Talk about Female Entrepreneurship with Bindi Karia

Bindi is Venture Partner at Draper Esprit, sits on the advisory board of the European Innovation Council and was recently appointed by World Economic Forum to their Digital Leaders of Europe Group. She strongly believes in promoting Women in Tech, and seven of her Advisory Board roles are for women-founded businesses.

Previously Bindi served as Senior Vice President at Silicon Valley Bank, where she focused on developing their early-stage banking in Europe. Prior to that, she led Microsoft BizSpark in the UK (now Microsoft Ventures).

Passionate about helping startups in Europe and connecting the dots between Investors, Founders, Corporates and Government, and as a result, she has worked in and around technology startups for most of her career. As a Consultant (PwC Consulting), as a Corporate (Microsoft BizSpark /Ventures), as a Startup employee (Trayport), as an Advisor (Startup Europe, TechStars Startup Weekend, Tech London Advocates, European Innovation Council, WEF), as a Connector (GQ UK, the IoD and Evening Standard have all recognised this) and as their Banker (Silicon Valley Bank).

She is the founder of a Boutique Advisory Firm, bindi ventures, focused on advising and connecting across four core Innovation pillars (Corporate, Startup, VC Managing Partners, Government) for commercial success.

Bindi was born in the UK, raised in Canada and lives in London.

Join our talk with Gyula Feher, Founder of Ustream (acquired by IBM) and Founding Partner at Oktogon Ventures and Mattias Ljungman, founding partner of Moonfire Ventures and Atomico.

Gyula Feher co-founded Ustream to exploit the potential of live video content delivered via the Internet. Ustream was one of the Softbank’s early European investments. Ustream was acquired by IBM in 2016.

At Oktogon VC Gyula focuses on early stage investing in technology heavy startups with global appeal.

Mattias Ljungman is the founder and general partner of Moonfire Ventures. He was previously co-founder and partner at Atomico for 13 years. The fund amassed over $2bn in assets under management, where Mattias’s key investments included Supercell ($5bn exit to Softbank), Klarna (valued at $10.65bn), Viagogo (valued over $2.25bn) and Climate Corp ($1.1bn exit to Monsanto).

In 2020, Mattias founded Moonfire, a European seed fund focused on helping founders at the very start of their journeys to create the right foundations for exponential growth.

As a member of the European investment community for close to 20 years, Mattias has been a passionate believer and supporter of the tech ecosystem. He was an early board member of Seedcamp and Firstminute when the funds first launched. In addition, he has sat on the SVB advisory board and was part of the EVCA digital task force.
