Fred is Co-Founder and General Partner at Stride.VC.

He was previously a General Partner with TOP European venture capital company Accel and Atlas Venture (now Accomplice) and an early backer and board member of a series of notable startups including ZooplaDeliverooSecret Escapes, CarWow, Integral Ad Science, DailyMotion and PriceMinister amongst others.

Seven of his 18 investments to date have now exited, with the remaining seven holding a combined valuation of more than $4 billion. Fred is passionate about ‘open sourcing’ venture capital and fostering better VC – entrepreneur interaction.

Fred joined Atlas in 2004 and spent 10 years as a partner on the technology team, where he focused on software, e-commerce and digital media. He has done a fair amount of fintech work as well.

Entrepreneurs that Fred have partnered with on the European side include Alex at Zoopla (IPO on LSE in June 2014 ), Ben at DailyMotion (a video sharing site that over 130M access every month), Pierre at PriceMinister (sold to Rakuten for $250M) and others.

Fred was a founding investor and board member of Seedcamp, the leading pan-European seed incubator. He spent 4 years on the board and a ton of time mentoring. Since moving to Boston he got involved in Techstars as mentor and investor.

Before Atlas, Fred was co-managing a 100M EUR fund where they did 13 investments and have exited CapitalIQ to S&P ($225M), Rainfinity to EMC (c. $100M), Cyota to RSA ($145M), Inxight to Business Objects (undisclosed), Consul to IBM (undisclosed), Opsys to CDT (all stock, undisclosed) and a few others.

Before being on the venture side, Fred used to be an Executive Director at Goldman Sachs in London, and have further experience with Zurich Capital Markets and J.P. Morgan, all in structured derivatives.
